TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro - Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro airport, your Tanzania Specialist guide will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. The rest of the day is at leisure, you can relax and enjoy the African atmosphere – Tomorrow morning your safari will begin!

Day 2: Arusha National Park

After breakfast your guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Arusha National Park, where your safari starts. This charming park has a rich diversity of landscapes and wildlife. From lakes, waterfalls and swamps to volcanos, mountains and tropical rainforest. They attract many beautiful birds including silvery-cheeked hornbill and thousands of pink-hued flamingos. This park is also the only place in northern Tanzania where you can easily spot the black-and-white colobus monkey.
One of the popular safari activities in this national park is a canoe or walking safari with an armed ranger. A great change to enjoy wildlife up close, from a different perspective than sitting in a safari vehicle. Dinner and overnight at Arusha.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

The first national park you visit is one of the smaller but most scenic ones. You can see elephants and huge troops of baboons in the forest and if you are lucky even tree-climbing lions. A variety of wildlife can be found around the huge soda lake, like buffalos, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras and flamingos. The shallow Hippo Pool offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings and you will have a spectacular view of the Rift Valley Escarpment. Dinner and overnight at Manyara.

Day 4-6: Serengeti National Park

Today you continue your safari in the Serengeti national park. Its stunning landscape can be seen in some of the most impressive nature documentaries. The endless plains and abundance of wildlife are unsurpassed. The annual wildebeest migration with more than a million wildebeest is probably the highlight of the Serengeti. It is a true spectacle and impressive to watch millions of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles thunder across the endless plains of the Serengeti. Together with your private guide you will be looking for the herds across the plains. Apart from the migratory animals you will also get to see lots of other animals, like lions, cheetahs, leopards, and many more. Expect to be impressed by the natural beauty of Africa’s most famous park. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti National Park.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast you will drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On this route there will be a high chance of seeing a lot of wildlife. After arriving at the crater rim you will descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor. The views are amazing! This collapsed volcano creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation. Enjoy the beautiful colors of the landscapes and the diversity of animals. The crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is full of elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five. The views from the crater rim over the crater floor are incredible. Because of its natural beauty the Ngorongoro Crater is chosen as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. There are a range of activities to do in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, like visiting a Maasai village.

Day 8: Tarangire National Park

Today you depart after breakfast to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive. Since this is one of the less known parks in Tanzania, it still has an authentic safari atmosphere. The hilly landscape, with grand Baobab trees against the blue sky, is breathtaking. Witness the world’s largest concentration of elephants. Herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen around the Tarangire River, drinking or enjoying a mud bath. Apart from elephants, Tarangire is a paradise for bird lovers. In the area around these swamps you can also see lions, leopards, cheetahs and even tree-climbing pythons.

Day 9-10: Tarangire - Airport

Today will be at leisure to relax or explore, depending on your flight. Your driver transfers you to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight and on day 10 you will arrive back home. You like to extend your safari with a beach holiday? Tanzania offers perfect paradises to unwind after your safari such as Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia.
